Community

The Community Committee is responsible for planning service-oriented opportunities that benefit other moms, children, and families in the community (and sometimes beyond). The subcommittees include Small Hands Big Hearts and Service/MOMS.

Previous events have included: no-sew blankets for animals at Baypath Humane Society, a sing-along with the senior residents at Golden Pond, and organizing the HopMoms “Project Just Because Holiday Hearts Drive”. This committee also oversees the organization of Meal Trains for the group.

Meal Trains: Meal Trains are available to any Hop Mom in need (i.e., a new baby in the family, an illness, an operation, etc.). The committee will coordinate the Meal Trains, post links to the Hop Moms’ private Facebook page, send out email blasts via Member Planet in order to fill the volunteer slots, and drop off/pick up coolers to/from the families in need at the start and end of the Meal Trains. The committee supplements Meal Trains with more food as needed. Reminders about Meal Trains will be posted on the private Facebook page.

Project Just Because Holiday Hearts Drive: Every November/December, the Hop Moms Group takes on 50-100+ “hearts” from Project Just Because. This committee will coordinate the effort on behalf of the Hop Moms Group and ensure that all hearts are filled by the due date.
